Rae's Notes

To get into the superman position:

  1. The receiver grabs onto something ahead of him, pretending that he's flying like Superman. The receiver could support himself in multiple ways.
    • The receiver could use just his hands like one does when hanging from a pull-up bar.
    • The receiver could support himself on his forearms.
    • The torso of the receiver could be lying on a surface to not strain his arms.
    • The receiver could support himself by placing his hands on the giver's knees and straightening his arms.
  2. From behind the receiver, the giver lifts the receiver's legs such that they wrap around the giver's thighs.
  3. To maintain this pose, the giver (or a third party) must support the receiver's legs, or the receiver must tightly wrap his legs around the giver's thighs.

Superman

Superman is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster, high school students living in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1933. They sold Superman to Detective Comics, the future DC Comics, in 1938. Superman debuted in Action Comics #1 (cover-dated June 1938) and subsequently appeared in various radio serials, newspaper strips, television programs, films, and video games. With this success, Superman helped to create the superhero archetype and establish its primacy within the American comic book. The character is also referred to by such epithets as the Man of Steel, the Man of Tomorrow, and The Last Son of Krypton.
